Grettel Batoon is an animator and filmmaker raised in both the Philippines and California. At the age of 10, she discovered her affinity for the arts and formed a strong passion for oil painting while in high school. Her award-winning undergraduate thesis, Seasons of Love, received the 2009 Russell Hexter Filmmaker Grant and is currently screening on the film festival circuit.

In 2008 and 2009, Batoon co-directed NYU’s student-run Fusion Film Festival and was NYU’s Princess Grace Award Nominee in 2008. She was also selected as the Banner Bearer for the Maurice Kanbar Institute of Film and Television during the 2009 Tisch School of the Arts graduation ceremony.
