‘Seasons of Love’ wins BEST ANIMATED FILM

I am so thrilled to announce that Seasons of Love received the award for Best Animated Film at the Visions Film Festival and Conference!

This, by far, was the most fun I’ve had at a festival. I’ve never been surrounded by a group of such genuine and talented filmmakers and film scholars. And to the students at UNCW who hosted the festival, thank  you for making me feel so welcomed!

Congrats to fellow NYU Alumni, Jaclyn Gramigna and Felix Thompson, who also won awards for their films.

Seasons of Love Wins Fusion Film Festival’s Top Prize

Last Friday, Seasons of Love was awarded the top prize of BEST FILM as well as BEST UNDERGRADUATE DIRECTOR at the Fusion Film Festival’s Student Competition. These are the film’s first festival awards and the first time in Fusion’s history an animated film received the top award.

A jury of NYU Tisch Film faculty selected the 4 Undergraduate, 4 Graduate, 3 Sight and Sound, and 3 Music Video finalists. The winners were then selected by a jury of industry professionals from Bad Hat Harry, Jim Henson Company, Overture Films, New Line Cinema, New Regency Pictures, Bad Robot, and Screen Gems.

Lastly, thanks to everyone who helped with this film. You know who you are! Let’s hope these awards aren’t the last.

Seasons of Love is a Finalist for the Fusion Film Festival!

Update: The Student Competition Screening and Awards Ceremony were postponed due to extreme weather conditions in New York. The event has been rescheduled for Friday, March 5 at 7pm at the Cantor Film Center (36 E 8th St, NYC).

I’m thrilled to announce that Seasons of Love is an Undergraduate Finalist for NYU’s 7th Annual Fusion Film Festival! Some of you may know that I have a very special relationship with Fusion, and I am just so excited that my film has been selected. Even more so, 2 animated films made it this year–mine and Bethany Heimbigner’s Sucker.

Both films will screen as a part of the Student Film Competition on Friday, February 26, 2010 at 7pm at the Cantor Film Center (36 East 8th Street, NYC). An award ceremony for the Film, Screenplay, and Music Video categories will follow the screening. The event is free and open to the public.
